Reading the numbers. Run (m/stroke) is speed ÷ rate — the single best efficiency number. Rate up while Run drops = wasted energy. Boat check % is how much the hull slows between strokes. Lower is smoother; big numbers mean the crew is stopping the boat on the recovery. Straightness % is straight-line distance ÷ actual path. 100% is a perfect line; every point below costs metres. Snake ° is yaw swing per stroke — a wagging stern usually means one side is out-pulling the other. Timing CV % is stroke-to-stroke variation in cadence. Under 3% is tight. Power is estimated two ways: from hull speed (k·v³) and from measured stroke impulse. When they disagree badly, trust neither and recalibrate.
